I luvs to read or feeding the soul + giveaway

October read- print
More time to read
I've always loved to read but over the years with CFS and commitments, my reading had dwindled. Over the last year things have been up and it's been a great boost to the soul.

Even when I wasn't reading, I continued to buy books especially by old and new favourites and writers I know personally. My TBR (to be read) piles both in print and e-book form is huge. Like Himalaya proportions (only slight exaggeration as my family can attest to).

Eleni's Library
Recently I talked about what it was like to have so many author friends and the effect it has on your TBR pile over at Eleni's Library.

I also keep lists of my yearly challenges there, as well as posting the occasional blog post about where I am up to in my reading.

Series Reading
September read - audio
This week I started posts about my series reading. I read a lot of series, some of which I started years ago and stalled, some which are newer especially thanks to audio books.

You'll find posts on the Authors Beginning with A and Authors Beginning with C (no B authors on my list ATM).

By keeping these lists it keeps me on track as well as in a way making me accountable to my reading. Bestselling author Stephen King mentions in his book On Writing that a writer must read to be a writer.

I agree. Along with the medical reasons, I feel that not reading (well, not much) did affect my creativity. And I'm working on getting it back.

Can a gift from her grandmother protect Lise?

Lise doesn’t believe in vampires. Or so she tells herself. Though, she constantly wears the garnet necklace her grandmother gave her, which wards off the creatures. Andreas, the man she’s attracted to, seems more than a little interested in it. Could there be an ulterior motive?
